Green buildings are eco-friendly, resource efficient. They are energy efficient, designed and commissioned to ensure a healthy life for its occupants. They are more comfortable and easier to live with due to low operating and owning costs. World Green Building Week is the flagship event of the global green building movement organized by World GBC and led by its network of over 70 Green Building Councils and 32,000 member companies. The vision of BIT and BEADS is to contribute significantly to a progressive, peaceful and greener world along with creating leaders in every field of technology. Building off an existing relationship with the nature conservancy, BIT and BEADS cherishes its ninth year of World Green Building Week by organizing “GREEN WALKATHON 2018” on 30th September 2018 from Mangala Stadium to Town Hall, Mangalore. The main objectives of this event are to bring awareness on sustainable development, energy saving, reuse, recycle, Minimize Impact on Environment, Enhanced Health and Productivity of Building occupants and by promoting for clean and green city among Mangaloreans. The students and faculty of Schools, professional and Pre-university Colleges in and around Mangalore city are likely to participate. The flagging off will be by Shree Swami Ekhagamyanandji of Ramakrishna mission, Mangaladevi at 7:30 AM in Mangala Stadium, near Lady Hill. The program is followed by felicitation to the unsung heroes in the various fields at Townhall, Mangalore. The GREEN WALKATHON will be covering the areas of Lalbagh, PVS, Navabharath Circle, City Centre, Hampankatta, etc. BIT & BEADS invites people from all corners to participate in this great event.
